By installing, accessing, or using Captyne, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before use.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Captyne. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@captyne.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
Each account is personal and non-transferable. You may not share your account or license with others.
Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Captyne plugin on the number of devices permitted by your active plan. This license does not include:
Captyne subscription plans (Starter, Individual Pro, Studio) are billed on a monthly or annual basis through our payment processor, Paddle. By subscribing, you authorise Paddle to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.
Preset marketplace purchases are final. No refunds are issued for preset purchases under any circumstances.
Subscription refunds: We do not offer partial refunds for unused subscription time. If you cancel, your access continues until the end of the paid period. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for verified technical failures that prevented all use — contact support@captyne.com within 7 days of charge.
Preset purchases: All preset purchases from the Captyne marketplace are digital goods delivered immediately upon payment. All preset sales are final and non-refundable. This applies regardless of whether the preset has been downloaded, installed, or used.
If you believe a preset was materially misrepresented or is technically defective, contact us at support@captyne.com. We will investigate and, at our sole discretion, may issue store credit or a replacement.
The Captyne marketplace allows Pro, Studio, and Enterprise subscribers to submit and sell presets to other users. By submitting a preset for sale, you confirm that:
We reserve the right to remove any preset from the marketplace at any time, for any reason, including quality issues or IP concerns.
You agree not to use Captyne to:
Captyne, including all code, designs, branding, and official presets, is our exclusive property. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the software or platform. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you voluntarily share with us may be used freely without compensation or attribution.
You retain ownership of any After Effects projects and compositions you create using Captyne.
CAPTYNE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that Captyne will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from data loss. We strongly recommend keeping backups of all After Effects projects used with Captyne.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF CAPTYNE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these Terms, abuse the platform, or engage in fraudulent activity. Upon termination, your license to use Captyne ends immediately. Sections 4, 7, 8, and 9 survive termination.
You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us to delete your account data.
Your use of Captyne is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Captyne after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in good faith through direct communication before any formal proceeding is initiated.
